SA RUGBY x SPUR MASCOT EXPERIENCE 2026 GIVEAWAY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATION
1.1. “Competition” shall mean Spur Mascot Experience Giveaway Competition;
1.2. “Competition Period” shall mean 00:01 am on Tuesday, 5th May 2026 to 23:59 pm on Sunday, 21st June 2026.
1.3. “Participant” shall mean any entrant into the Competition and any person with whom a Participant may share a prize (in the event that you win a prize which is for you and one or more additional persons (“your partner/s”);
1.4. “Promoter” shall mean the South African Rugby Union (“SA Rugby”), SARU House, Tygerberg Park, 163 Uys Krige Drive, Plattekloof, Cape Town, 7500, South Africa;
1.5. “Grand Prize” shall mean a mascot experience for the nominated child/dependent to join as a mascot for the Springboks at either South Africa vs. Scotland on Saturday 11th July 2026 at Loftus Versfield, Pretoria or South Africa vs. Wales on Saturday 18th July 2026 at Hollywoodbets Kings Park, Durban. Alongside this mascot experience, the parent/guardian, nominated child, and two other guests will receive general admission tickets to watch the game in the stadium. The winners will be determined randomly by lucky draw by an authorised representative of the Promoter at the conclusion of the Competition Period.
1.6. “Winning Entry” shall mean an entry which qualifies to win a Prize in the Competition as described in paragraph 4 below.
1.7 “POPIA’ (Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013)” POPIA (Act No. 4 of 2013) is a comprehensive piece of legislation designed to regulate the processing of personal information. Its primary goal is to balance the right to privacy (enshrined in the South African Constitution) with the need for the free flow of information in a modern economy.
1.8 “Responsible Party” shall mean the South African Rugby Union (“SA Rugby”), SARU House, Tygerberg Park, 163 Uys Krige Drive, Plattekloof, Cape Town, 7500, South Africa;
1.9 “Operator” WMG Management Europe Limited trading as THE·TEAM, Performance (company number 13621120)
1.10 “Cross-border Transfer’ (s72 POPIA)” Cross-border Transfer refers to the movement of personal information from a "Responsible Party" (an entity based in South Africa) to a "Operator" located in a foreign country.
1.11 “Personal Information” is defined as information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person and, where applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person (such as a company or organization).
1.12 “Processing” any operation or activity (or any set of operations), whether or not by automatic means, concerning personal information.
1.13 “Data Subject” the person to whom personal information relates."
2. GENERAL ENTRY CONDITIONS
2.1. No late entries will be accepted;
2.2. The Competition is open to South African citizens or permanent residents;
2.3. Participants must be available on Saturday 11th July 2026 in Pretoria, South Africa or Saturday 18th July 2026 in Durban, South Africa
2.4. The following persons are excluded from this Competition and may not participate:
2.4.1. a director, member, partner, employee or agent of, or consultant to SA Rugby;
2.4.2. a supplier of goods or services in connection with this Competition, including promotional partners, printers, advertising and promotional agencies, professional advisors and staff employed by or contracted to the Promoter/s marketing service providers;
2.4.3. the spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members of the people or entities referred to in 2.4.1 and 2.4.2 above.
2.5 Although there is no age limit to participate in the Competition, the child of the parent/legal guardian that will enjoy the mascot experience must be between the ages of 8 and 12.
However, the prize can only be claimed by a person aged 18 years or above and accordingly the child must be assisted by his or her parent or legal guardian who must submit the claim and claim the prize on behalf of the child.
2.6 In order to be eligible to win this prize, entrants must be signed up to the Spur Family Club app (https://app.spursteakranches.com/)
2.7 Participation by any minor in the mascot experience is strictly subject to SARU’s safeguarding policies, match-day operational rules and all reasonable instructions issued by SARU, the Event organiser or stadium officials from time to time.
2.8 Participation by the minor is conditional upon the winner, as the minor’s parent or legal guardian, completing and returning to SARU, in a form acceptable to SARU, a written consent, indemnity, acknowledgment of risk and medical information form prior to the Event.
2.9 SARU reserves the sole and absolute right, at any time and without liability, to withdraw, suspend or terminate a minor’s participation in the mascot experience where SARU reasonably considers such action necessary for safety, welfare, operational or regulatory reasons.
3. HOW TO ENTER AND WINNER SELECTION
3.1. During the Competition Period, users visit https://sa-rugby-partners.partnerships-hub.com/spur/en/landing, enter the required information (first name, last name, email address, country of residence, region, date of birth, gender), within the official entry form, and submit the fully completed entry form. When all foregoing steps of the entry process are complete, entrants will automatically receive one (1) entry in The Competition.
If an entrant completes the optional survey, they will be given ten (10) additional entries into The Competition. Completion of any survey is entirely optional, is not required to enter the Competition, and does not affect an entrant’s chances of being selected as a winner.
3.2. Qualifying Participants will be included in a list of entrants that will be automatically entered into a lucky draw to determine Prize winners.
3.3. Winning Entries shall be determined by means of a ‘lucky draw’ (by randomiser) which shall take place within 96 hours of the conclusion of the Competition Period.
3.4 The Competition entry mechanism, including the applicable link or platform, shall be made available prior to launch of the Competition, and no entries shall be accepted outside the Competition Period.
4. PRIZES
4.1. “Grand Prize” There is a total of (two (2) Prizes , one (1) Prize, for one (1) Winning Entry at the match at Ellis Park and one (1) Prize for one Winning Entry at the match at Loftus Versveld. The Prize is limited to a mascot experience (including ground entrance) for the mascot and 3 general admission tickets. Travel and accommodation is not included. For the avoidance of doubt, there shall be one (1) prize awarded in respect of each Test Match, being two (2) separate prizes in total, each prize corresponding to a single specified fixture.
4.2. Prize winners will be notified via email and/or phone within seven (7) working days of the Winning Entries having been drawn.
4.3. The Promoter reserves the right to re-draw for a Prize and award a Prize to someone else in the event that the Prize winner has not responded to three (3) attempts by the Promoter to communicate with him/her.
4.4. No Prize will be awarded unless or until verification of each Winning Entry is made by the Promoter and the Promoter is satisfied, in its absolute discretion, that the criteria for a Winning Entry and the Competition’s Terms and Conditions have been met. Should the Participant not qualify to receive a Prize, the Participant acknowledges that he/she shall be not receive the Prize.
4.5. In the event that a winning Participant is either uncontactable or in the event that a winning Participant rejects, or declines acceptance of the Prize, the Prize shall be subject to a new draw.
4.6. Should a Participant win a Prize, the Participant undertakes to expeditiously do all things necessary to enable the Promoter to comply with all of its obligations including but not limited to, providing such personal information as may be required in order to facilitate the awarding of the Prize.
4.7. Prizes are not transferable and accordingly may not be exchanged for their cash value or sold.
4.8. The Promoter’s decision is final.
4.9. The Promoter reserves the right to withhold the Prize until it is entirely satisfied that the claimant of the Prize is the bona fide winner. The Promoter may require you to provide it with additional information as it may reasonably require (including proof of identity and/or proof of residency) in order to process and to facilitate your acceptance and/or use of a Prize.
4.10. The Promoter does not make any representation or give any warranties, whether expressly or implicitly as to a prize, and in particular, without limitation, makes no representations and gives no warranty that a prize, or any aspect thereof, will:
4.10.1. meet the Participant’s requirements, preferences, standards or expectations; or
4.10.2. be satisfactory and punctual;
4.11. For avoidance of doubt:
4.11.1. winning Participants will be required to pay for any additional expenses that are not defined as being a part of the Prize; and Any costs not expressly included in the prize description, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, meals, insurance or incidental expenses, shall be for the sole account of the winner.
4.11.2. the Participant undertakes to sign a waiver of liability and indemnity before claiming any Prize. The Promoter cannot be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss of property as a result of winning, accepting and/or utilising the Prize. The winner acknowledges that the mascot experience may involve access to controlled or restricted areas of the stadium environment and participation in match-day activities, and agrees that participation is at the minor’s own risk subject to parental / legal guardian consent and oversight, subject always to SARU’s safety protocols.
5. GENERAL TERMS AND INFORMATION
5.1. For any Prize which must be claimed by the winners’ parent/legal guardian, the Promoter will not be obliged to award it to anyone other than that parent/legal guardian. The Promoter may also withhold the Prize should the Promoter determine in its sole discretion that a dispute may have arisen as between the winner and the parent/legal guardian in relation to the Prize.
The Promoter is not liable or responsible to verify the identity of the parent or legal guardian.
Participation in the Competition is deemed to be acceptance of these terms and conditions by the Participant.
5.2. The Promoter/s, its respective directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors, subsidiaries and sponsors assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage, including but not limited to physical harm or death, howsoever arising from or as a result of a Participant’s participation in the Competition or redemption of a Prize in terms of this Competition, or from any amendments to Prize details and/or the terms and conditions of this Competition. All Participants (including the winners) hereby expressly indemnify the Promoter in this regard and shall hold it harmless from all and any claims arising from or as a result of the above reasons.
5.3 These terms are entered into by the Promoter and the entrant. The Promoter has engaged the services of WMG Management Europe Limited trading as THE·TEAM (company number 13621120)to assist with the running of this Competition, the collection and management of data and the selection of winners ("Data processors").
5.4 THE·TEAM (located in the UK and US) will assist with collection and management of data, entry forms, selection of the winners, and have created a dedicated Sponsor web page on their site referred to in Section 3 above for the entry page and terms and conditions for this Competition.
5.5. The Promoter reserves the right to vary, postpone, suspend, or cancel the Competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, without notice, for any reason whatsoever. In the event of such variation, postponement, suspension or cancellation, the Participant agrees to waive any right, interest and expectations that he/she may have in terms of the Competition, and acknowledges that he/she will have no recourse against the Promoter.
5.6. Amendments published in any media, or on the SA Rugby website on https://springboks.rugby/ will form part of the terms and conditions of the Competition, to which terms the Participants agree to be bound.
5.7. By participating in this Competition, and for the purposes of delivering the Prize, the Participant consents to (i) the processing of his/her personal information (including name, age, ID number, address, telephone number and/or e-mail address) by SA Rugby, any of its operators, commercial partners, agents and sub-contractors on the condition that they will keep such information confidential; (ii) the collection of such further of the Participant’s personal information to supplement the personal information provided by the Participant (where necessary); and (iii) the retention of the Participant’s personal information for such purposes and for such period as may be permitted in terms of the law. The entrant acknowledges and consents to the processing and transfer of personal information to third parties, including entities located outside the Republic of South Africa, provided that such transfer is subject to appropriate safeguards and is conducted in accordance with section 72 of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013. Until a prize winner is confirmed, only the personal information of the parent or legal guardian will be processed, and no personal information of the minor will be collected or processed.
5.8. The Promoter shall respect the confidentiality of Participants' personal information and will not sell or distribute such information to any other party without the explicit consent of the Participant, except where required to do so by law.
5.9. The Promoter shall request the Prize winners’ consent in writing to their name, image and likeness being used and published by the Promoter in connection with this Competition for a period of 12 (twelve) months after they are announced as winners. Prize winners will not be entitled to any payment or remuneration for any such publicity or otherwise. All and any materials, including publicity materials, will be the sole property of the Promoter.
5.10. The Promoter reserves the right and at any time at its absolute discretion and without giving any reason or notice, to vary, modify or amend the Competition’s Terms and Conditions as the Promoter thinks fit. The Promoter may (i) extend any time limit or waive any of the terms where (ii) terminate or suspend the Competition at any time due to supervening circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control (iii) substitute a Prize deemed to be an appropriate replacement and of equal or greater value in the place of any of the Prizes (or any part of a prize). The Promoter’s decision in the exercise or interpretation of any of its rights or discretions in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be final and binding.
5.11 All instructions, rules and conditions on any advertising or promotional materials relating to this Competition form part of the Competition although, in the event of conflict, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail over all such other instructions, rules and conditions. All advertisements depicting the Prizes and prize descriptions are illustrative rather than definitive.
5.12 The Competition is directed at parents or legal guardians and is not intended to solicit or encourage direct participation by minors.
5.13 Participants have the right to access, correct, delete or object to processing of their personal information, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. Requests: privacy@sarugby.co.za.
5.14 SA Rugby will implement appropriate, reasonable security measures and notify affected Participants and the Information Regulator of qualifying data breaches.

5.16 These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any dispute may be submitted to the jurisdiction of the South African courts, and the parties’ consent to the non‑exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Western Cape Division, Cape Town.
5.17 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall be construed as creating an entitlement to future participation in similar promotions, and SARU retains full discretion over all aspects of the Competition and prize fulfilment.
